Who We Are:
- Breakthrough Haematology provides specialist care for patients with blood cancers and blood disorders, based in Nedlands, Western Australia.
- The practice is led by Professor Chan Cheah, with a strong focus on lymphoma and CLL, including access to novel therapies and clinical trials.
- We also provide dedicated expertise in multiple myeloma, with Dr Ghassan Zammar specialising in myeloma care and treatment.
- We work closely with your GP and other specialists to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
We provide care across the full spectrum of haematology, with particular expertise in:
- Lymphoma (Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin)
- Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL)
- Multiple myeloma
- Other blood cancers
- General haematology conditions (e.g. anaemia, thrombosis, abnormal blood counts)
Treatment is typically delivered in a private hospital day unit, with close supervision and coordination by our team.

- A valid GP or specialist referral is required
- Please bring relevant results (blood tests, scans, reports)
- Most patients are treated in the private system
We aim to minimise unexpected costs:
- We have no-gap arrangements with most private health funds
- Most treatments use PBS-listed medications
- Any non-PBS costs are discussed in advance
